Training Specialists for Regional Development
Tokyo Legal Mind (LEC) is Japan’s premier source for various job qualification training and preparatory classes for national examinations. EIKO Education System based in Yamaguchi prefecture has university preparatory and English language schools.
Together, LEC and EIKO Education System have formed a partnership as of 1st June 2007 to develop specialists in the local area to contribute to regional revitalization.
To commemorate this partnership, both firms will participate in a special joint lecture about the benefits of such qualifications.

From the first Friday June 1st 2007, it is possible to take selected LEC web courses as well as sign up for various other valuable correspondence courses at EIKO Education System premises.
* What is a Web course? : This type of correspondence courses takes place onsite in special web-equipped booths.
Synergistically boost your learning by taking advantage of the knowledge, resources, and experience of both companies.
LEC operates an expansive network of franchise schools nationwide, from Sapporo to Okinawa, providing various qualifications and national examination courses but in Yamaguchi prefecture, LEC only provided Internet, video, cassette and DVD correspondence courses.
Meanwhile, EIKO Education System has been developing university preparatory schools as well as English schools for study abroad around the Ube City area, under a motto of “community-based education”.

The EIKO Education System was first founded on October 1st 1985, as “Kimura-juku,” which consisted of the Kogushi main school, Komatsubara school and Tsunefuji school. Focusing above all on mathematics and science, it was aimed at students taking entrance exams for junior high school and university.
EIKO has contributed much to the region of Ube & Onoda City. Due to a gradual increase of high school students, it founded the Prep-school FC department in 1992. The EIKO group, therefore, is made up of the FC branches as well as six cram schools throughout the prefecture.
In 1994, the Yomiuri newspaper recognized the EIKO Education System, with its 2,700 students, as the best school in Yamaguchi prefecture. In association with the Asahi newspaper, EIKO has produced and broadcast in the Yamaguchi Prefecture a weekly 45-minute TV program entitled “Ganbare Juken League” discussing the high school entrance examination.
The EIKO Education System has also offered opportunities to discuss issues regarding academic and social education by inviting parents and guardians, as well as education experts, to discuss issues on the radio on FM Yamaguchi and FM Kirara.
Hiroshi Kimura, the CEO, has also written a series of newspaper articles on “ 21 seiki nihon wo sukuu kyouiku” (‘Education to Save 21st Century Japan”).
In 2007, EIKO Education System in affiliation with LEC, established an all-round preparatory school, including qualification courses, and is currently working to establish itself in the industry.
