The 4th Takenaka Open Seminar is to be held on February 27th, 2006.

  • The guest speaker will be Mr. Yasuyuki Nambu, President and CEO of Pasona & Group.
  • More than 1,000 have participated in previous lectures.
  • The seminar will be broadcast live to 14 sites across Japan.
  • Afterwards, a discussion with The Honorable Minister Heizo Takenaka is planned.

LEC Tokyo Legal Mind University, the first for-profit university in Japan, is holding a series of Takenaka Open Seminars for the general public, in cooperation with TRIgger Lab, a think-tank that supports Dr. Heizo Takenaka (Minister of Public Management, Home Affairs, Posts and Telecommunications and Minister of State for the Privatization of the Postal Services).

At the 4th Open seminar we will invite Mr. Yasuyuki Nambu, President and CEO of Pasona & Group, to speak on the theme of “Heroes are Born From Our Youth”, Mr. Nambu is a renowned figure in venture business, and continues to propose novel ideas for our society, such as fostering independent youth through job creation in the agricultural industry. He will enthusiastically tout the potential inherit within our youth, and expound on the keys to realizing our wishes and dreams. After Mr. Nambu’s lecture, a dialog with Dr. Takenaka will follow.

Theme: Heroes are Born From the Youth
Speaker: Mr. Yasuyuki Nambu, President and CEO of Pasona & Group.
Profile: In 1972, one month before graduating from college, Mr. Nambu launched an HR consulting and dispatch agency aimed at assisting housewives who sought to rejoin the workforce. Since then, Mr. Nambu has adopted “employment creation” as his mission and continues to propose new working and hiring standards and practices, and has been building the social infrastructures to support them.
Pasona was listed on the Hercules market of the Osaka Securities Exchange in of December 2001, and in the first section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange on October 2003 – a landmark first for a general HR consulting and dispatch agency.
He also founded the Kansai Employment Creation Organization, Inc. and the Kanto Employment Creation Organization, Inc., which work with many major corporations toward “changing jobs without unemployment” for middle-aged and senior workers.
One of the projects he has launched is an “Agricultural Intern Project” in Ogata, in Akita Prefecture, to support employment in the agricultural field for creation of middle and senior white collar jobs, as well as jobs for young part time workers. In February 2005, he founded PASONA O2, an agricultural employment project, which based in a “green space” located in a converted vault beneath Pasona’s head office building.
Mr. Nambu has written 12 books, including Jinzai-Kaihatsu (2004), Sougyo ha Sougyo dearu (2001, co-written with Mr. Yoshimi Ishikawa), and Konoyubi Tomare (2001).

Access: From Shinjuku Nishiguchi Station (Toei Oedo Line) or the West Exit of Shinjuku Station (JR, Keio, Odakyu, Seibu, Marunouchi, or Toei-Shinjuku Lines) follow the underground passage to the Shinjuku-L-Tower. About the Takenaka Open Seminars
