We would like to proudly announce that a sophomore student at Tokyo Legal Mind University (a.k.a. LEC University – Japan’s first for-profit university, est. 2004), has successfully passed the national examination for Judicial Scrivener (Shihoshoshi Attorney). This news follows that of many other undergraduate LEC students in recent months who have passed similarly prestigious examinations such as the Registered Real Estate Transaction Manager(Takken)and the Certified Bookkeeper (Nissho Boki) exams.
On November 1st, the results the National Judicial Scrivener Exam were officially announced, and a sophomore at LEC University’s Chiyoda Campus was among the few successful candidates - regardless of the fact that it was the student’s first attempt. The Judicial Scrivener examination is widely considered one of Japan’s most difficult in the real-estate-related fields, with a passing rate of only 2.8%.
LEC University has long underscored the practical need for passing national examinations and acquiring recognized certificates. As a result, our students have demonstrated a high success rate in such exams. Additionally, four LEC University students passed last November’s Registered Real Estate Transaction Manager(Takken)examination - not an easy exam for the first-timer. Over 170,000 candidates had taken the exam and its passing rate for 2004 was only 16 per cent. The four passing LEC University students - who were all freshmen at the time - passed the exam within just 6 months of entering LEC University, thus proving themselves quick passers indeed. Moreover, in the past two years, 268 LEC University students have passed the 3rd grade Certified Bookkeepers (Nissho Boki) Exams, held in June and November of 2004, and February and June of this year.
