The First Open Seminar by Takenaka Heizo

On Monday, October 10th 2005, LEC: Tokyo Legal Mind University launched a series of open seminars titled Takenaka-Juku in its Chiyoda Campus. The speaker was Mr. Takenaka Heizo,

Minister of State for Economic and Fiscal Policy and Minister of State for Privatization of the Postal Services. The theme of the seminar was “Structural Reform and Japan in the 21st century”.

The room was overwhelmed with 342 participants. Some 872 people watched simultaneous broadcasts at 16 points located all over Japan. The speech by Minister Takenaka was stimulating and insightful.

The Open Seminar Series will run until March 2006, inviting prominent guest speakers from various fields including securities, regional revitalization, administrative and fiscal reform, education issues. The guest speakers are going to speak on various structural themes that Japan faces in the 21st century. For the fifth session, Mr. Takenaka Heizo and Mr. Sorimachi Katsuo, the President of LEC: Tokyo Legal Mind University (the first for-profit university in Japan) will hold an open discussion.
