Job Cafe one-stop service center is a youth employment service managed by LEC by commission of the Japanese government. LEC Job Cafe was established to promote employment amongst young people as a solution for social problems of today's youth: high unemployment turnover rate, high job-leaving rate and the increasing part-time worker population. The Job Cafe project started in June 2003 and was initiated as a joint project of 4 government bodies: Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare; Ministry of the Economy, Trade and Industry and The Cabinet Office.
LEC Job Cafe provides a wide range of employment services for youth.These services are augmented by using the professional skills and experience of the private sector and carrying out projects in cooperation with local industries, local schools, and the local communities. The services of Job Cafe include the following: employment information, career consulting, business knowledge, business skills, internships and job placements.
