The Historical Knowledge Examination is an exam that tests knowledge and aptitude regarding Japanese and World History.
Its aim is in helping the applicants look back on the path our ancestors took to decide on the path in which we shall proceed.

Questions will not only be based on subjects taught in schools, but also reflect subjects that are influencing current or popular events in historical fiction (TV dramas, novels and such).

The Historical Knowledge Examination is provided in 6 different levels.
Applicants who have passed one of the higher levels can skip taking the respective subjects to get the official “Certificate for Students Achieving the Proficiency Level of Upper Secondary School Graduates”.
