Katsuo Sorimachi

President of LEC and Tokyo University of Career Development

Mr. Katsuo Sorimachi graduated from the University of Tokyo’s Department of Economics in 1965. He passed the CPA Exam in 1970 and the National Bar Exam in 1978.
With the establishment of Tokyo Legal Mind in 1979, he endowed the legal profession with a revolutionary law study program (given the acronym LEC, meaning ‘Legal Education Center’) that integrates economic, accounting, and management concepts into unified curricula. In April of 2004, LEC opened Japan’s first for-profit university, Tokyo University of Career Development.

The 21st century is characterized by the emergence of the knowledge-based society, wherein advanced intelligence comprises the core of societal wealth. This serves as evidence that achievements both in the humanities/social sciences and in the natural sciences have been adopted in every aspect of our activities, whether governmental, corporate, or private. In this historical context, we strive to provide the services that will enable people to foster professional careers as well as personal growth.

Our company's goals are firstly to enhance the intellectual ability of individuals in the developing knowledge-based fields, and secondly to create an intellectual infrastructure that enables such individuals to fully realize their abilities and cultivates the kinds of management specialists needed to manage such individuals. 6) Supporting specialist networks (under the management of the LEC Social Security & Labor Professional Corporation, Shihoshoshi Houshi Inc. (the Professional Authorized Judicial Scrivener Corporation) and LEC Professional Tax Attorneys Inc., LEC Attorneys Inc., and KIGYO Support Limited Liability Partnerships)
